A programme-level curriculum review covering learning outcomes, teaching methods and assessment design, delivered with the academic staff responsible for implementation.
The question
The institution wanted to know whether its programme outcomes, teaching approach and assessment instruments were aligned, and what would need to change for graduates to demonstrate the capabilities the programmes claimed to develop.
What we did
- Mapped stated learning outcomes against course content and assessment tasks across the programme.
- Reviewed a sample of assessment instruments and marking schemes for validity and consistency.
- Ran working sessions with teaching staff to test proposed revisions against practical constraints.
- Produced a sequenced implementation plan with responsibilities assigned to existing academic committees.
Result
The institution adopted a revised outcome framework and a repeatable internal review method it can apply to further programmes without external support.
