About DIRP

DIRP is a Pakistan-based research and technical assistance organization working in education and the social sectors. We support clients with systematic research, evaluation, institutional development, and the practical application of evidence.

Our purpose

Why DIRP Exists

DIRP exists to help address persistent social and economic inequities.

We study the systems, policies, and programs that shape people's opportunities, then work with clients to apply the findings in ways that improve policy and practice. That second half matters as much as the first: research that stops at publication rarely changes anything.

DIRP PVT LTD is the registered company; DIRP is the name we use publicly and in our work with clients and partners.

Our vision

A future that is inclusive, sustainable, and grounded in equity and justice

DIRP envisions a future in which social and economic development is inclusive, sustainable, and grounded in equity and justice.

Our values

What Guides Our Work

Three commitments shape how we choose assignments, how we run them, and how we work with the people involved.

Intellectual Curiosity

We ask careful questions, examine assumptions, and remain open to new evidence. Curiosity helps us understand problems more fully and design better responses.

Collaboration

We work through partnership and shared learning. We value the knowledge of clients, institutions, communities, and researchers because stronger solutions are built together.

Positive Change

We focus on work that can produce meaningful and lasting benefits. Our research is designed to be used, whether it informs a policy decision, improves a program, or strengthens an institution.

Over time, DIRP expanded its work across social and education policy research, evaluation, and technical assistance. Collaborations with the University of Chenab and the University of Lahore have contributed to the development of practical solutions for challenges facing higher education.

How we work

Analytical Rigour, Applied in Real Settings

DIRP combines analytical rigor with an understanding of implementation. We develop research around the decisions our clients need to make, explain findings in clear language, and support teams as they apply evidence in real settings.

  • Scope is agreed against the decision the client faces, not a standard package.
  • Methods are selected for the context, the timeline, and the resources available.
  • Data quality, validity, and research ethics are treated as design requirements.
  • Reporting is written to be read by the people who will act on it.
  • We stay involved through the point where findings are applied.
